Me, Myself, and I

Some things about Rebecca Lyn - She's the second oldest of nine children and absolutely loves having a big family!  Growing up, she was close to her older sister and they enjoyed dressing up their two younger brothers in dresses and painting their nails bright red.  She grew up in Provo, Utah for the first couple years of her life.  Her family moved to California for two years and she grew to love Disney in her time there.  Disneyland was like her playground and she knew it like the back of her hand.

It was a bitter sweet day when her family decided to move back to Utah and live in Ogden for her dad's work and also to live closer to family.  In Ogden, Becca developed a passion for people, theater, marching band, music, and hair.  She participated in musicals from 6th-12th grade, marching band all four years of high school, and was part of an audition community choir called Choral Edition.  She stayed busy all of the time! Summer before her Junior year of high school Becca started Cosmetology school at the Ogden Weber ATC.  She made some close friends and excelled at hair and makeup.  She participated in competitions and never placed lower than 4th at regional and state levels.

She graduated from Ogden High School in 2013 after completing the best senior year ever!  During her senior year, Becca placed first in a Job Skills SkillsUSA competition at the regional level and second at State.  She was named Ogden High School's Speech and Drama Sterling Scholar.  She was nominated for the Top 10 Leading Actresses in the state of Utah through the High School Musical Theater Awards for her performance as Baker's Wife in Into the Woods.  She was Music Director and a dancing blanket for You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and the production took first in the state's one-act theater competition.  She was Theater Guild's secretary and participated heavily in everything to do with that.  And to top everything off, she had the privilege of being a speaker at her high school's graduation.  Fun Fact: Becca graduated high school on her 18th birthday (May 22).  She graduated from cosmetology school a few months later.

But where is she now??

Becca Started college at BYU-Idaho and is majoring in Theater Education.  Her high school theater theacher was such an inspiration that she would now love to have the same kind of impact on a future student.  However, the big dream is to have her name become one that is known by many.  She would love to work backstage with Disney or Broadway doing hair and makeup.  Performing would be amazing too, but is unlikely.

She was recently accepted into the Disney College Program for the Fall 2014 season and is excited to get involved with the Disney company!  She'll be moving to Florida in August 2014 to start her journey of working in Merchandise.

Becca has a happy life and couldn't ask for anything better!  She currently works as a teacher's aid and volunteers every Tuesday to powder the faces of the people who come to give the Devotional talks at BYU-Idaho.  She has met amazing LDS church leaders through doing this like Elder Dallin H. Oaks (from the Quorum of the 12 Apostles), Sister Linda K. Burton (General Relief Society President), Brother David L. Beck (General Young Men's President), along with some of the 70 and other amazing people that give inspiring words.

Hobbies Becca enjoys are country dancing, rock climbing, singing, acting, and being a nerd over anything Captain America or Disney.  She's a country dancing instructor at BYU-Idaho and has loved doing it!  Her favorite moments are when she's flying though the air above everyone's heads or being tossed around with her feet off the ground.  Country swing dancing can be quite the adrenaline rush if done right :)

Blogging is another hobby.  She has created quite a few blogs now in an attempt to keep things organized.  Go ahead and explore her personal life, Disney life, food creations, and much more!  She used to be super good at updating daily, but has become a little bit of a slacker as the craziness of college, relationships, and other things happen in her life.  However, there should be a post on a blog at least every ten days!  Her mother and aunt won't let her go longer than that without hearing something.  So come along for the ride through college, Disney programs, relationships, crazy experiences, and everything else that comes in the starting-life-on-my-own package!  Hope you enjoy!
